We have a tradition to read the Christmas story before we open any presents at Christmas. This year put all the names of the main characters in a hat and have each person draw a name: Joseph, Mary, the Shepherds, the Wise Men, Herod, the Angels, etc. Have each person share what their character was thinking on their journey to the birth of Christ. You can find the stories in Luke 2 and Matthew 1-2. If you have a Nativity you can have each person hold the character as they tell their story.
Christmas is coming fast with only two weeks remaining. Enjoy every moment and don't forget to focus on the true meaning of the season. Put on some Christmas tunes, take time to watch some family Christmas movies, and spend quality time together. Ask your wife what you can do to help her Christmas season be a little less stressful. Slow down and let the hope that came in a manger lead you throughout the season.
Who doesn't like a surprise? Go ahead and get your wife an early Christmas present. Wrap it up and give it to her this week. Be creative in your presentation. Add a little romantic music and lights.
As the last of the Thanksgiving turkey is finished off, it's time to look towards Christmas. Take the lead in decorating and preparing your home for the holidays. Whether it is trimming the tree, putting up lights, hanging the stockings, make it a family event. Rather than rush to get it all done in one day or night, spread it out over the week and take your time to enjoy each moment. Don't forget to start the season right with Christmas music while you decorate.
Your Mission:
As we celebrate giving thanks for all the blessings we have, write down everyone's name on a piece of paper. Before you carve the turkey have each person draw a name from a hat and say something they are thankful for about the person they draw. As you say grace, remember to thank God for all the people that are in your life.
Your Mission:
When is the last time you actually mailed a letter? It is still a nice surprise to get something personal in the mail. Write your wife a hand written note and mail it. Write whatever is on your heart you want to share with her.
